BREAKING: JOS-NORTH LEGISLATIVE ARM PASSES 2025 APPROPRIATION BILL, CHAIRMAN, HON. BARR. J.K. CHRIS, SIGNS IT INTO LAW

The Executive Chairman of Jos-North Local Government Council (LGC), Hon. Barr. John K. Christopher, has signed into Law the Local Government’s 2025 Appropriation Bill into Law, and has become the first Chairman and Local Government Council of Plateau State to do son.
The Colourful celebration and signing of the Bill, which took place at the Chairman’s office today, saw the Chairman, his Deputy, and other Councilors, flanking around the Chairman, as the Leader of the Legislative Arm and the Clerk of the House were signing their portions in the document, while express happiness over their efforts to make the Budget a reality within time.

The Budget signed into Law by Hon. Barr. J. K. Chris, is ₦9,491,612,963.41 (Nine Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety-One Million, Six Hundred and Twelve Thousand, Nine Hundred and Sixty-Three Naira, Forty-One Kobo), an increase from the 2024 Budget,
According to the Chairman, the increment is “reflecting our commitment to scaling development efforts in the Local Government”.
Earlier, the House had moved a Motion of Public Urgent Importance, through the Majority Leader, Hon. Moses Bulus, to the effect that the revenue sources for the Local Government need to be improved upon.

Owing to this Motion, and agreeing that the revenue been collected now is inadequate, the House has approved that, in 2025, the daily collection from Commercial Tricycles (Keke Napep) operators has been upgraded from N100.00 to N200.00, and that all operators must obtain and purchase a sticker from the LGC, valued at N1000.00
Secondly, the House has said the payment of taxes in the LG is compulsory and violators would be punished according to Law.
To achieve these purpose, the House has stated that it would employ the assistance of Religious, Traditional Rulers and other Stakeholders in the Local Government Area (LGA).
