The Youths in a press conference today at the NUJ Press Center, Plateau State, submitted that the call is suspicious as the sponsors are yet to identify themselves. The Coalition’s press test signed by one Pololis Gyang the youth leader from Rock Haven also said the call is suspicious as the motive behind the protest is not also clear. The Coalition however, called on the sponsors to engage the government than creating a situation that would lead to loss of lives. NASARAWA: GOVERNMENT ADVISES YOUTHS TO EMBRACE DIALOGUE RATHER THAN PROTEST

The state government said, “No matter the level of hardship Nigerians are going through as a result of the current economic downturn, dialogue rather than confrontation still remains the best solution”. Gwandu, on 22 nd June 2017, in Suit No: NICN/JOS/47/2013, filed by Mr.   Reuben Awanye Itruma, challenging the stoppage of his salary and sack by the National Veterinary Research (NVRI) VOM and the Governing Council is yet to be obeyed by the Defendants till date. You would recall that the Court of Appeal, Jos Division, had dismissed Appeal No: CA/J/276/2018, filed by NVIR, for being unmeritorious in its Judgment delivered on Tuesday, 8 th of August 2022. This is coming, as the country is recording high cases of cholera which is ravaging the country. Program Coordinator, SURWASH, Engr. Jonathan Malann, made this known to newsmen on Wednesday at a press briefing at the NUJ Press Center Jos. PLATEAU STATE Engr. Jonathan revealed that the cholera outbreak has been recorded in 33 states of the country with no official case reported in plateau state by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC). He said, “We have recorded 1,548 suspected cases, 65 confirmed cases, and 52 deaths nationwide”.
