NASARAWA: ETSU KARU MARKS 20 YEARS ON THE THRONE IN STYLE

  By: Wilson Bako (Lafia), The Chairman of Karu Traditional Council and Etsu Karu in Nasarawa State, Pharmacist Luka Panya has Baba marked his Twenty (20) years on the throne with a pledge to promote peaceful coexistence among the various ethnic groups in the Council and in the State as top priority. The Traditional ruler, who was speaking at a colourful celebration in Karu as part of activities to mark the occasion, also promised to collaborate with other Traditional rulers in the country on the need to add their voices to the crusade of preaching things that would unite the people as a Nation rather than, to divide them. The State’s Chief Executive said the celebration is a test of faith in commemoration of the sublime submission by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him) to the call for sacrifice. In a Sallah message to the people of the state in Lafia on Saturday, the Governor stated that the celebration also symbolizes a call to all Muslims to live a life of selflessness, brotherhood, sacrifice, and adherence to Allah’s commands. Jang, at the Plateau State Chief Magistrate Court, Giring Abattoir in Jos, could not commence again today, 10 th June 2024, as the Chief Magistrate Court could not find proof of service of the Court’s Summons on Yakubu Jang in the Court’s file. However, to fasten the process, the Counsel representing Yakubu Jang was served in Court as the bailiff had complained of not been able to serve the Defendant in person since the last sitting. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA vs National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI) and its Governing Board, declared that the dismissal of the Claimant (MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA) cannot stand because the Rules/Procedures of the Institute in relation to dismissal were completely ignored. This finding was also affirmed by the Court of Appeal, Jos Division in its Judgment delivered on 8 th August 2022 in Appeal No: CA/J/276/2018. The Lower Court in its Judgment delivered by Hon. The party has therefore warned the general public to be aware of this new development. The party Chairman in the state, Hon. PLATEAU: “THERE WAS NO FAIR HEARING”. COURT OF APPEAL DECLARES IN NVRI vs MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA’S CASE

Valentine Adese (JP), SUIT NO: CA/J/276/2013, is an Appeal filed by the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), against the Judgment of the National Industrial Court, Jos Division, presided over by Hon. Justice R. H. Gwandu, delivered on the 2 nd of June 2018 in Suit No: NICN/JOS/47/2013 in favour of Mr. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA. The Court of Appeal in its Judgment on Tuesday, 8 th August 2022, while affirming and dismissing the Appeal filed by NVRI, declared that the Respondent, MR. REUBEN AWANYE ITRUMA was not given a fair hearing by the Committee which conducted the proceedings which dismissed him. Hon. Justice Ibrahim A. Andenyangtso (JCA) who delivered the lead Judgment in part stated that: “I am satisfied that the lower court was on firm ground in his findings that the Respondent (MR.
