BREAKING: 18,429 PERSONS TESTED POSITIVE TO HEPATITIS IN NASARAWA STATE
By: Wilson Bako (Lafia), A total number of 18,429 out of 181,946 persons have tested positive to Hepatitis test conducted on them in Nasarawa State. The State Commissioner of Health, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahya, disclosed this at a Press Conference in Lafia, yesterday. Pharmacist Yahya, who said the press conference was part of activities lined up to mark the “World Hepatitis Day”, further explained that, the State Government had in February, 2020, committed to the elimination of viral Hepatitis through the implementation of a “Five Strategic Plan”, with the aim of treating a total of 124,000 persons, within a period of Five years. He stated that, “such an initiative was in line with the State Economic Empowerment Development Strategy (NEEDS) directed at improving human capacity development.
