PLATEAU: Mwaghavul Bible Translation Committee Celebrates 100 Years of God’s Faithfulness

By: Eunice Maina, The Mwaghavul Bible Translation Committee (MBTC), Mwaghavul Mother Tongue Initiative (MMI) in Partnership with Nigerian Bible Translation Trust (NBTT), celebrated its centenary and God’s faithfulness for all the years that the missionaries brought the gospel of Christ to Mwaghavul land. The epoch ceremony took place on the 26 th September, 2021, at Panyam in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State and had in attendance dignitaries, sons and daughters of Mwaghavul land. It is on record that the missionaries from Britain first brought the gospel of Christ to Mwaghavul land in 1907. The missionaries started the translation of the Bible in Mwaghavaul language with the help of the Bristish Committee and Foreign Bible Society. Insecurity: Bauchi Community Cries Out For Help, Over Frequent Killings, Kidnappings

By: Luka Daniel (Bauchi), Some Concerned residents of Birshin Fulani Community in Bauchi state have lamented incessant killings and kidnappings by gunmen, appealing to relevant authorities to rise up to the occasion and defend them. In a press statement signed and issued to journalists on Sunday by Abdulhamid Jibrin Birshi on behalf of the Concerned Citizens, the community, noted with dismay that despite the incessant attacts on them, no top government official have found it necessary to visit and commiserate with them. BAUCHI: NEDC To Construct 500 Housing Units To Reduce Housing Deficit

Justice I. Kunda, to look into his file and find that, the Defendant has already put in a new Counter Affidavit, which it intends to use and replace the earlier one, alleged to be toxic with. The PDP, through its Counsel, Edward Pwajok (SAN), who led S. G. Odey (Esq), S. Oyawole (Esq) and 7 other lawyers for the Claimant, said the process (the new Counter Affidavit) is already in the file of the Court, without the leave of Court. Sit At Home Compliance: Gov. Obiano Meets With Security Council/ Heads of Banks

By: Ifeanyi Okonkwo (Anambra), Anambra State Government has directed banks to resume operation effective Monday, 13th September, 2021. Governor Willie Obiano gave the directive during his meeting with members of the State Security Council comprising of all security outfits in the state and heads of all bank branches in the state. According to the Governor who stressed that the sit -at -home compliance affects the Gross Domestic Product, GDP and economy of the state, he pointed out that banks that don’t comply with the directive will be sealed for the whole week. The Governor, however said that, if such banks don’t open the upper Monday, the bank will be permanently closed. He assured that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure compliance, saying that adequate security patrol will increase around bank branches and other business ventures across the state. Participating Political Parties In Anambra Guber Election Warn INEC Against Subverting The Will Of The Electorate

By: Ifeanyi Okonkwo, Ahead of the November Sixth Anambra Governorship election, political parties participating in the exercise have warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to distance self from any shady deals capable of subverting the will of the electorate. In an open letter to INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, dated 10 th September, 2021, after deliberations in Awka, fourteen of the political parties, among other things, maintained unequivocal condemnation and rejection of any attempt by the Commission to use Owerri, the Imo State capital, as what they called “staging-base for the rigging” of Anambra Governorship election, and vowing to use everything within their means to resist such attempt.
